Though Allianz Worldwide Partners was officially created on January 1st 2014, its member companies - Allianz Global Assistance, Allianz Worldwide Care and Allianz Global Automotive - are steeped in a long history of client-driven, service-oriented excellence. These three global leaders, all belonging to the time-honoured parent company, Allianz, whose founding dates back to 1890, now form a powerful, new collaborative force within the Allianz Group. 

Allianz Global Assistance, began in 1950 as Elvia, a small Swiss travel insurance company. In the 1970’s, with the worldwide advent of the assistance business, SACNAS-Mondial Assistance was created in France. By 2000, Elvia and SACNAS-Mondial Assistance had successfully merged and joined the Allianz Group. By 2008 Allianz Global Assistance had acquired leading travel insurance and assistance businesses in the U.S. and Australia, and opened operational units in China, Mexico, India and Russia. Today Allianz Global Assistance is present in 66 countries and has a 13,224-strong staff speaking 58 languages. 

Allianz Worldwide Care, a specialist in international health insurance and medical, life and disability cover, was established in 1999 in Dublin, Ireland. It launched its first operations on May 1st, 2000. Today Allianz Worldwide Care employs 760 people of 53 different nationalities, speaking 29 languages.


Allianz Global Automotive was established within Allianz in 2010. Based in Munich, it has become a strategic partner of the automotive industry serving manufacturers, dealers and financial services companies. Today Allianz Global Automotive is present in 28 countries and manages more than 40 automotive brands in more than 30 countries.
