Allianz commitment

Allianz commitment

Sustainability has been an integral part of the Allianz corporate culture for more than 120 years. Since 1894 the company’s commitment to sustainability has been grounded in taking social responsibility for how its decisions and actions today might affect generations to come. With this in mind, Allianz has fiercely dedicated itself to three major global issues: climate change, demographic change and an equitable access to finance.

Allianz knows that 2.6 billion people on our planet subsist on a daily income of under 4$. Through its countless micro insurance initiatives, Allianz now protects over 24 million economically vulnerable human beings in developing countries from the accidents, hazards and normal risks of every day life.

Allianz also happens to be one of the world’s largest investors in renewable wind and solar energy. In the last decade alone, the company has invested more than 1.7 billion Euros in renewable energy and now owns 49 wind and solar farms across Europe.  In the past eight years, through collective proactivity and awareness programmes , it has reduced it CO2 emissions by 35% per employee.  Allianz is also investing in forestation projects around the world and in an ambitious energy-saving initiative in India.

From supporting green construction to financial literacy, and from fighting for human rights and diversity to caring for the aged, Allianz is helping to pioneer the way for creating a sustainable world for generations today and tomorrow.
